Role Description The Elementary School Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Portage, WI, at St. John's Lutheran School. This role is responsible for planning and delivering effective classroom instruction in core subjects, integrating Christian faith and values throughout the curriculum. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, managing classroom behavior, and providing individualized support to meet diverse learning needs. The teacher collaborates with colleagues and families, participates in school-wide activities, communicates regularly with caregivers, and contributes to a positive, respectful, and faith-oriented school culture.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Teaching and Elementary Education skills, with experience creating engaging, age-appropriate learning environments.
- Candidates should possess Curriculum Development and Education skills, including the ability to design standards-based lesson plans and learning activities.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Understanding of or willingness to learn Lutheran doctrine and practice, and ability to support the Christian mission of the school.
- Strong classroom management, organizational skills, and ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
- Experience integrating technology into teaching and learning is beneficial.
