Laundry Aide Job Description:
The Laundry Aide's primary purpose is to collect, wash, dry, fold, and deliver the residents clothing and other laundry items to both campuses, St. John's on Luther and St. John's on Fountain Lake.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Able to follow directions and instructions.
Must be able to work well with others.
Good Customer service skills.
Must have, a Class C Driver’s license
Able to read, write and understand the English language. In order to be able to get laundry to the proper areas, work in a safe manner with chemicals and read the SDS book.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Sort dirty laundry, wash, dry and fold clothing, towels and linens.
Deliver the items to resident rooms and designated areas.
Collect dirty items to be washed.
Drive van to SJFL and collect and deliver laundry. Specific shifts complete this task.
Being kind, respectful and listen to resident and family needs.
All other duties assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION:
Must complete annual education
Must attend all mandatory in-services provided.
Any other education supervisor feels necessary to be competent in your job.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, lifting and carrying up to 25-35 lbs. Occasional crouching, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder level. May be exposed to marked changes in temperature and humidity.
