POSITION SUMMARY:
The In-Home Homemaker provides non-medical support to older adults living in their own homes. This role focuses on light housekeeping, meal preparation, companionship, and limited assistance with activities of daily living to support safety, comfort, and independence.
This position is non-medical, it is supportive care only (no transfers, lifting, medication administration, medical or nursing care.)
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Experience working with older adults preferred
- Ability to follow care plans and respect client independence
- Reliable, compassionate, and dependable
- Ability to perform light physical tasks
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if driving is required)
- Background check required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, vacuuming, dusting, and basic home organization
- Assist with meal planning and simple meal preparation
- Provide companionship and social interaction
- Assist with limited activities of daily living such as:
- Stand-by or light hands-on assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Provide medication reminders only (no medication administration)
- Assist with errands or transportation when applicable
- Observe and report changes in client condition to the care team
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive home environment
