Full-Time Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team at St. John's Lutheran Community, a nonprofit continuum of care providing short-term care, skilled-nursing care, independent living, assisted living, and memory care services. As a Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the fiscal soundness of our organization.
Job Summary:
As a Controller, you will perform accounting duties to ensure accurate financial reporting, assist in developing annual operating and capital budgets, and monitor cash, budget, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. You will work closely with our CFO and leadership team to maintain a high level of financial transparency and accountability.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review financial statements, including monthly financial reports, quarterly financial reports, and year-end financial results
Develop and maintain the annual operating and capital budgets with input from the St. John's Board of Directors and community and property manager leadership
Monitor and manage cash, budget, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure the corporation's financial stability
Provide financial guidance and support to management and departments
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations
Manage and lead a team of accounting professionals
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or a two-year accounting education, or five years of financial experience in a healthcare setting, with skilled nursing finance preferred
Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy
Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently
Strong leadership skills to lead, mentor, and develop a team
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, employees, and support agencies
Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, as well as auditing principles and practices
