Job Overview
St. John's Early Learning Center, part of St. John's UCC, Germantown, Ohio, is searching for a director of our childcare center. We serve our community by offering a non-denominational faith-based childcare program. We provide all day childcare that includes a preschool curriculum in a 6-hour daily program for children 3-5 years old (toilet trained). We also provide a before and after school program for children kindergarten through grade 5. We offer full time childcare for those children during school breaks, and a full time summer program for all age groups served.
Our program has the highest rating (Gold Star) from the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, and we are committed to maintaining the highest standards while offering our community affordable child care.
We are looking for an experienced childcare professional to lead our staff in achieving our goals.
Duties
- Develop and implement educational programs that align with best practices in early childhood development and curriculum standards
- Lead, mentor, and support teaching staff to ensure high-quality instruction and professional growth
- Manage daily operations including enrollment, scheduling, staff management and compliance with licensing regulations
- Foster strong relationships with families through regular communication, parent meetings, and community events
- Oversee health, safety, and sanitation protocols to maintain a secure environment for children and staff
- Coordinate staff training on child development, safety procedures, and educational strategies
- Monitor program quality through observations, assessments, and feedback to continuously improve the learning experience
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or in related field; OR Child Development Associate Credential; OR an Ohio Administrator Credential
- Proven background in education administration within a childcare or preschool setting
- Demonstrated teaching skills with a focus on early childhood development principles
- Experience working directly with children, parents, and educational teams to foster positive outcomes
