Knowledge of clinical day porter care for facility. Experience in the OSHA guidelines to carry out cleaning, maintenance, and safety function duties during the day. Cleaning mechanic trade understanding, common terminology methods, practices, janitorial tools, and procedures in relation to safety and janitorial duties related to building and facilities repairs/services with a basic knowledge of building safety codes and construction. Assist in simple installation of facility and system materials, supplies and mechanical equipment related to day porter and janitorial plumbing work, buildings, and equipment.

Education & Experience
- High School/GED (Required)
- Minimum of five years of janitorial maintenance/facilities experience, valid driver’s license and insurance required to perform job-related essential functions.
- Available to work variable work schedules to complete repairs, tasks and duties.
- Primary assignment is Facility Day Porter Duties to all St. John’s facilities indoor and outdoor throughout Los Angeles County. Includes but not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping surfaces, maintaining bathrooms and kitchens, replace light bulbs, clean up spills, clean walls, door handles, surfaces. Perform janitorial/day porter preventive maintenance functions, perform manual labor as needed.
- Assist with all janitorial support when necessary, such as Vacation, Sick days etc.
- Assist in installation of facility and system materials, fixtures, and mechanical equipment; perform plumbing work, and service all janitorial equipment.
- Participate in janitorial related construction site/remodel tear down and set up functions related to safety and cleanliness; make simple janitorial interior and exterior repairs; make standard furniture and carpet cleaning repairs.
- Perform janitorial building inspections on a regular basis and report, recommend repairs and/or safety concerns as needed.
- Ensures that all Janitorial Preventive Maintenance schedules are completed on a timely manner.
- Prioritize, plan and schedule daily responsibilities.
- Other duties and instructions as required by the Facilities Supervisor or Manager
- Able to proficiently perform a variety of semi-skilled janitorial facilities maintenance and repairs.
- Must be computer literate and be able to use Microsoft computer-based work order system, e-mail.
- Must be able to work independently and to be a great team player when needed,
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, define priorities and meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
