What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide - PT Day Shift position at St. John Lutheran Home?
About the Role:
We are seeking a dependable and flexible Dietary Aide to join our team on part-time basis. This position supports our residents by assisting with meal service, kitchen duties, and maintaining a clean and safe dining environment. Employees in this role may will work every other weekend and every other holiday rotation. The hours are daytime hours, approximately 48 hours per pay period.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Previous experience in a dietary or food service role
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment and appliances
Responsibilities:
- Provide dietary information for use by dietary personnel in preparation of foods for our residents.
- Assists cooks related to food prep of meals and supplements/snacks and serving residents.
- Understands resident’s dietary needs.
- Perform defined work routines/checklist as assigned such as dishwashing, cleaning duties, basic sanitation procedures as established by state and federal regulations.
Skills:
As a Dietary Aide, you will use your knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations to ensure that meals are prepared safely and according to dietary restrictions. You will also use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service to residents and their families. Additionally, you will use your ability to work in a fast-paced environment to keep up with the demands of the job. Your knowledge of therapeutic diets and menu planning will be essential in ensuring that our residents receive the best possible nutritional care. Finally, your ability to operate kitchen equipment and appliances will be crucial in the preparation and serving of meals.
