Job Summary
The role of bell person is primarily responsible for welcoming all guests to the hotel as well as bidding them farewell. The bell person is escorting guests to and from their accommodations, orienting them with the features of the property and their accommodations, assisting the guest in any way to make them feel more comfortable in accordance with the Forbes Standards of Excellence.
Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Greet all guest warmly upon arrival and provide a welcoming first impression
- Unload, transport, and load guest luggage upon arrival and departure
- Assist guests with any needs, questions, or special requests
- Assist guests with parking as needed
- Answer guest and internal phone calls courteously and efficiently
- Be aware of daily hotel activities, group and VIP arrivals
- Assist front desk staff with check-ins, check-outs, and guest inquires
- Assist housekeeping, beach service and other departments as needed
- Assist with any other reasonable request from management or guests
- Ensure the lobby, bell closet and work areas as well as departmental equipment are always clean and presentable
- All other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs
- Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English preferred
- Valid driver’s license (preferred) Previous experience as a bell person preferred

Physical Demands
- Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, walking and frequent parking/ retrieving of guests’ vehicles
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching
- Ability to push and pull carts, luggage trolleys, and other equipment safely Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Working Conditions
- Indoor and outdoor environment
- Possible exposure to extreme heat or cold depending on season
- Direct communication with guests at the front desk
