What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapy Tech - FT position at St. James Parish Hospital?
TheTherapyTechnician shall be responsible for providing transport of patients to and from therapy and other activities, assistance in maintaining treatment areas, and conducting clerical tasks in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with professional practices and ethical standards (works with direction, guidance, anddirect/'line of sight observation'byalicensed therapist). TheTherapyTechshall alsodemonstrateaccountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problemsolving and productivity enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary fashion
Job Duties:
- Review therapy schedule, plan and provide appropriate patient transportation
- Treatment setup/preparation and conclusion activities are carried out as directed by the therapist and in accordance withthe most stringent ofregulating guidelines
- Assistswith routine, standardized exercises as directed by thetreatingtherapist.
- Assistswith transfers, standing activities, observationofpatientduring care when the patientrequiresadditionalsupport.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned thoroughly asscheduledand treatmentareais kept in aclean andorganized fashion.
- Maintains open communication with supervising therapists
