What are the responsibilities and job description for the Before & After School Caregiver position at St. James Early Learning Center?
We are seeking a highly motivated individual that can provide supervised care, monitors children's activities, and provide a safe, nurturing environment for children enrolled in the School Age children. This individual works with the children before and after school and is also a center floater throughout the day. During our summer schedule, this individual works in our all-day summer program.
General responsibilities are planning simple but engaging activities that will meet the needs of school-age children in grades K-5. Helping children start homework, providing afternoon snacks, and enjoying active engagement with our school-age children.
Support other teaching staff by performing various tasks throughout the classroom. Supervision of children, and maintaining classroom routine, including cleaning of children, materials, and classroom areas.
General Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to apply early childhood development theories in daily classroom activities and facilitate appropriate outcomes for individual children.
Ability to be flexible with work assignments and work schedules.
Must have the ability to work and maintain high standards of professional ethics with persons of different racial, ethnic, economic, and social backgrounds.
Qualifications, Education, and Experience
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Minimum of one (1) year experience with children.
Must pass all PA-required background checks.
