Optometric Assistant/Optician: Greenspoint/Conroe Health Centers

We are seeking an OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT/OPTICIAN to become a part of our team! You responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Vision centers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing direct patient care to patients seen in the Vision centers
• Complete patient pre-workup (medical history, autorefractor, IOP measurement, and pupils) for the doctor
• Maintaining office cleanliness and organization of resources
• Assist with frame styling customers with correct fitting eye wear, frame, and lens selection. Conclude exam with eyewear selection, sales, and ordering of final glasses/contacts.
  
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment such as auto-refraction tests
• Responsible for building and maintaining a robust patient schedule.
• Fast paced rewarding environment, multi-tasking from technician responsibilities, optical, and scheduling in real time required.
  
  
• Assist with frame styling customers with correct fitting eye wear, frame, and lens selection
• Answering telephones and scheduling appointments
• Knowledgeable of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
• Communicate in a culturally competent and effective manner to clients/caregivers regarding the services available

Qualifications

• Experience preferred but not required: training provided for optical, and optometry related skills.
• Willing to stay up to date in optometry advancements and continued education.
• Good keyboard skills - 35 wpm
• Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress
• Detailed oriented and organized
• Great interpersonal skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Willing to travel to multiple locations
• Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required
• Must be willing to work a rotating schedule between Greenspoint and Conroe Health Centers
