What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Assistant Specialist Position position at St. Hope Foundation?
We are seeking an Accounting Assistant Specialist to become a part of our team! As part of our team, you will be responsible for month-end close journal entries and ensuring the accuracy of all inventory and fixed asset values in the inventory management system. You will also ensure reports in the time management system comply to federal guidelines and organizes and electronically distributes mail for the organization.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of an Accounting Assistant Specialist will include, but is not limited to the following:
- Utilize inventory management system to track and manage fixed asset inventory levels, identify and report discrepancies to management
- Receive and verify shipments
- Maintain supply inventory levels
- Support with processing supply and equipment orders
- Conduct annual equipment inventory audits
- Assist with month-end close journal entries
- Participate in financial audits
- Assist with payroll closedown and accurate reporting in the timesheet management system
- Communicate with employees to assist with resolving payroll related inquiries
- Processes and electronically distributes mail daily
- Communicate and identify opportunities for process improvements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Prior professional experience in an accounting environment
- Close familiarity with accounting procedures
- Proficiency in data entry
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Detailed oriented and organized
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
Working Conditions:
- The position occasionally requires sitting, standing and bending. Occasional very light lifting, up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight may be required.
