Job Summary
A special education paraeducator assists certified teachers in providing academic, physical, and emotional support to students with special needs, helping them meet their goals in inclusionary settings. Key duties include reinforcing instruction, supporting students with personal care and behavior management, assisting with classroom tasks and supervision, and maintaining accurate records of student progress to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. A paraeducator in a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program supports teachers by assisting with student instruction, monitoring behavior, preparing materials, and maintaining the classroom environment to ensure a safe and engaging learning experience for young children
Requirements / Qualifications
Resume One letter of recommendation (must be dated and not older than 2 yrs.) CPR/AED Certificate First Aid Certificate NOTE: Applications submitted without the required materials stated by the deadline will not move forward for paper screening. Hours: On-call as needed and varies from 6 hrs. to 7 hrs. day; but could be 3, 4, or 5 hrs, but not less than 2). You will see the jobs come through an Automated Subbing System where you can easily pick up the job if you want it. Qualifications: Must have completed at least two years of study at institution of high education; OR obtained and Associates Degree (or higher); OR pass an academic assessment in reading, writing and mathematics. Must have basic knowledge of reading, writing and math skills. Requires the ability to assess situations, interpret student behavior and apply appropriate measures to enforce school regulations. Knowledge of developmental stages of young children preferred for Para Ed I and knowledge of behavioral practices and CPR/AED and First Aid certifications needed for the Para Ed II position. Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred. Please Note: As part of your hiring process, you are required to complete a physical abilities test to assure that you have the required physical abilities to perform the required job functions. Your offer of employment is conditional on your measured abilities to meet or exceed all of the established physical testing standards.
