Senior or Staff Accountant
Commercial & Nonprofit Focus
Location: Approximately 25% travel requirements for fieldwork, otherwise fully remote
Compensation: $65,000 – $85,000 (Staff Accountant)
$85,000 - $105,000 (Senior Accountant)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Auditor with experience in commercial and nonprofit attestation engagements, including audits, reviews, and compilations. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team under Partner supervision.
CPA license preferred. Experience with nonprofit Form 990 preparation is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Engagement Execution
- Serve as a key member of engagement teams under supervision of the Partner
- Perform audit, review, and compilation procedures for commercial and nonprofit clients
- Assist in engagement planning and risk assessment
- Prepare and document workpapers in accordance with professional standards
Technical Areas of Responsibility
Perform substantive and analytical procedures in areas including:
- Planning
- Cash
- Accounts Receivable
- Investments
- Contract Assets and Liabilities
- Fixed Assets
- Debt
- Accounts Payable
- Accruals
- Equity/Net Assets
- Revenue Recognition
- Expenses
- Other areas as assigned
Financial Reporting
- Draft financial statements and related disclosures
- Assist in preparation of audit/review reports and communications
- Communicate findings and recommendations to the Partner
Construction Industry Experience (Preferred)
Nonprofit Industry Experience (Preferred)
Qualifications
Required:
- 3 years of public accounting experience in audit/attestation
- Experience with commercial and/or nonprofit clients
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and audit standards
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred:
- Active CPA license (or CPA candidate)
- Experience with nonprofit audits
- Experience preparing 990 tax returns
