Position

St. George Village is seeking a dynamic and innovative Life Enrichment & Transportation Director to lead the design and delivery of meaningful, resident-centered programming within our Independent Living community, while supporting Wellington Court activities.

This leadership role is responsible for creating a vibrant, engaging lifestyle experience that promotes overall well-being—physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Guided by Eden Alternative principles, the Director empowers residents to take an active role in shaping their daily experiences, fostering a culture where purpose, connection, and joy thrive.

Success in this role is demonstrated through strong resident engagement and a growing number of resident-led initiatives.

This position requires a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and overnight trips.

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership & Resident Engagement

  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance a comprehensive life enrichment program
  • Develop diverse offerings that support physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual wellness
  • Champion and expand resident-driven programming and leadership opportunities
  • Plan and coordinate weekly outings and special events, including overnight trips

Resident Experience & Community Integration

  • Serve as liaison to Resident Activity and Wellness Committees
  • Partner with Marketing and Wellness teams to support new resident onboarding and engagement
  • Assist residents through transitions across levels of care
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and highly engaging community environment

Operations & Administration

  • Oversee department planning, scheduling, and communications (calendars, flyers, digital platforms)
  • Manage transportation services, including scheduling and vehicle maintenance coordination
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date community communication systems and applications
  • Manage departmental budget and resources effectively

Environment & Experience Enhancement

  • Ensure community spaces are inviting, engaging, and thoughtfully decorated for holidays and events
  • Oversee recreational areas including fitness center, pool, and chapel resources

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, coach, and support team members (fewer than 10 direct reports)
  • Conduct performance evaluations and contribute to hiring and compensation decisions
  • Ensure completion of required training and professional development (Relias)
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence

QualificationsEducation & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Recreational Therapy or related field), or
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Recreational Therapy certification preferred

Certifications & Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Eden at Home Associate certification (required within 120 days of hire)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Active role requiring regular standing, walking, and engagement throughout the community
  • Occasional lifting (typically up to 25 lbs)
  • Work conducted in both indoor and outdoor settings
  • Moderate noise level consistent with a professional senior living environment

Schedule & Flexibility

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) requiring flexibility to meet the needs of the community, including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight travel.
