Role Description The High School Spanish Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Atoka, TN. The teacher will design and deliver engaging Spanish language instruction for high school students, using a variety of teaching methods to build proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Daily responsibilities include planning lessons, assessing student progress, providing timely feedback, and maintaining accurate records. The role involves collaborating with colleagues on curriculum alignment, participating in faculty meetings, and contributing to school initiatives and events. The teacher is expected to create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that reflects the school’s mission and encourages student growth, curiosity, and cultural understanding.
Qualifications
- Ability to teach Spanish effectively, with strong skills in Spanish Teaching and Teaching at the high school level.
- Experience in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development that supports rigorous and engaging language instruction.
- Background in Education, including knowledge of best practices in secondary language learning and assessment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field; advanced degree and relevant certifications are preferred.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive and culturally responsive teaching.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues, engage families, and participate fully in the life of an independent school community.
