St. George Academy, a dynamic public college-preparatory charter school, is seeking a passionate and innovative Social Sciences/History Instructor to join our team. This position serves students in grades 7–12 and offers the exciting opportunity to design and teach engaging courses across the social sciences, including the potential to develop Advanced Placement and elective offerings.
We are looking for an educator who is eager to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of the world—past and present. This role is more than teaching; it is an opportunity to help shape the future of our history program and contribute meaningfully to the continued growth of our school community.
What You’ll Do
- Design and deliver high-quality, standards-aligned instruction that challenges and engages students throughout the year
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and excellence across the department
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with families regarding student progress (with regular gradebook updates in ASPIRE)
- Foster a classroom environment that is safe, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating
- Implement effective academic and behavioral supports to help every student succeed
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including students with IEPs
- Use data and assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Maintain accurate attendance and records
- Contribute to school-wide programs, events, and student supervision
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), RTI processes, and ongoing professional development
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, History, or a related field (or Secondary Education with a history emphasis)
- A valid Utah Teaching License
- Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
- A commitment to building positive relationships with students, colleagues, families, and the community
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
