Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Guidance Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping K-8 students navigate academic, social, and personal challenges to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic and personal issues
- Assist students in developing educational and career goals
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success
- Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths and challenges
- Address behavioral issues and promote positive behavior management strategies
- Offer guidance on college and career planning
- Support students with special needs through individualized education plans
Requirements
- Experience in academic advising and counseling
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Knowledge of childhood development and cultural diversity counseling
- Ability to work in a classroom setting and collaborate with educators
- Previous experience working with students in a school environment is preferred
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field (required).
- State certification/licensure as a school counselor (or ability to obtain).
- Commitment to the teachings and values of the Catholic Church and ability to model faith in daily interactions.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience in social-emotional learning and crisis response preferred.
VIRTUS certified and background check required.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
