Essential Job Functions The Program Assistant is responsible for working closely with participants and team members, offering essential support and care while encouraging active engagement in daily activities in a community-based, social model of care. This includes assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, supporting therapeutic activities, and ensuring adherence to the participant activity plan. The role also involves accompanying participants to the bathroom, assisting with transitions between activities, and acting as their primary caregiver when necessary. In addition, the Program Assistant helps with meal and snack service and maintains cleanliness in bathrooms and activity areas. The focus is on fostering independence, preserving dignity, promoting mental and physical stimulation, preventing falls, and encouraging socialization, hydration, and nutrition to enhance and sustain participants' overall well-being. |
