Description:

The Instructional Technology Coordinator is a mission-driven educator rooted in independent school values, emphasizing collaboration, experiential learning, and the purposeful use of technology. This role advances teaching and learning by supporting students as they progress from foundational digital literacy to advanced innovation. Reporting to the Director of IT, the Coordinator serves as a strategic facilitator across all divisions, bridging the gap between classroom pedagogy and technical infrastructure by coordinating specialized projects with technology personnel.


Essential Functions and Tasks:

Teaching Responsibilities

• Serves as instructor or facilitator of the school curriculum as assigned by the Technology Director.

• Design and deliver project-based, inquiry-driven learning experiences that are developmentally appropriate and engaging.

• Foster a classroom culture that reflects the school’s mission, values, and commitment to ethical and responsible technology use.

• Support students’ growth in problem-solving, collaboration, and digital citizenship.

• Assess student learning using a variety of methods and provide timely, constructive feedback.

• Maintains accurate school educational resources and digital compliance records.

• Participate fully in divisional meetings, professional development, and the broader life of the school.


Instructional Technology & Faculty Collaboration

• Serve as a hands-on instructional partner to all faculty across subject areas.

• Collaborate with curriculum specialists and teachers to co-plan lessons, projects, and assessments aligned with curricular goals.

• Provide in-class modeling and coaching to support effective technology instructional practices.

• Support curriculum alignment and continuity of technology skills across grade levels.

• Support faculty use of learning management systems, digital assessment tools, and instructional platforms.

• Promote best practices in digital citizenship, student data privacy, and responsible technology use.

• Contribute to professional learning through workshops, small-group sessions, and one-on-one faculty support. 


Experiential & Interdisciplinary Learning

• Take an active role in engineering labs, maker spaces, and technology-enabled classrooms across divisions.

• Support interdisciplinary initiatives connecting technology and core academic disciplines.

• Guide students through design thinking, prototyping, and iterative problem-solving processes.

• Encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence in hands-on learning. Collaboration with IT & School Leadership

• Coordinates regular alignment sessions with the Director of Technology and Division Heads to support teaching, learning, and operational excellence with meeting agendas, minutes, debriefs, and actionable items.

• Collaborate with the Academic Support with online testing and test administration.

• Collaborate with IT team members to ensure alignment between instructional goals, infrastructure, and systems.

• Assist with the evaluation, piloting, and implementation of instructional technology tools.

• Support instructional device programs and classroom technology resources as needed.

• Supports the Employee and School Handbooks and assists with revisions and updates, when necessary, of the school’s IT and Technology curriculum policies and procedures.

• Adheres to the Employee and School Handbooks.

• Exhibits the behaviors described in the Faculty and Staff: Basic Expectations, Characteristics of Professional Excellence, and complies with Physical Requirements and Work Environment.

• Completes various tasks related to the employee’s yearly goals and the school’s long-range and strategic financial plan.

• Be assessed through the Professional Growth and Evaluation Program.

• Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by the Head of School and/or supervising director, including extracurricular.

• Employees may be required to work remotely or engage in telework activity as determined at the employer’s sole discretion.
