What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at St Elmo Steak House?
Our Servers are dedicated to their craft and take pride in providing the best customer experience possible for each and every patron we serve. We encourage our Server's to develop their skill set so that they may diversify their capabilities and in turn become more valuable to the front of house.
This is a part-time opportunity focused specifically on Saturday and Sunday evening shifts.
What you will be doing:
- Welcome each guest personally using clear and enthusiastic words, tone, and body language
- Learn guest names and personally recognize our regular patrons
- Present food and beverage menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding menu items
- Accurately and immediately record and ring in food and beverage orders into the POS system
- Stay appropriately engaged in the guest dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests
- Obey and follow all liquor laws and card anyone that looks under the age of 40
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the server stations including counters, utensils, shelves, and storage areas
- Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept and process payment, and provide change if applicable
- Complete open and close duties
What you will provide:
- Minimum 3 years of serving experience in fine dining
- Minimum 1 year tenure with Huse Culinary
- Weekend availability is required for this role
- Extensive Wine & Beverage knowledge preferred
- 1-3 years' experience working in high- volume restaurants preferred
