Shift/Hours: Full Time 40 Hours, First Shift
Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background. Position is responsible for maintaining the grounds of St. Elizabeth Healthcare Facilities to provide a safe, properly functioning and attractive environment; and to assist higher level positions by performing basic general maintenance and repair services to a wide variety of equipment and building systems, on both the interior and exterior. Focus is on work of minimal complexity and turnaround time to serve immediate customer needs whereas other positions cover more extensive repairs that require specialized knowledge and longer downtime.

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Maintenance Assistant for our hospital in Ft. Thomas, KY
Shifts/Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week Day Shift
Asset Maintenance - Assist Other Trades To Identify, Troubleshoot, And Correct Basic Problems With Plumbing, Medical Gas, Mechanical, And Electrical Systems Or To Complete Miscellaneous Construction Projects
Mobile Equipment – Repair of wheelchairs, stretchers, beds and various carts (dietary, surgery, SPD) Preventive Maintenance (PM) - Completion of assigned PM work orders accurately and on time to ensure high completion rates. Electrical - Replace bulbs and ballasts. Change nurse call items, televisions. Plumbing - Rebuild faucets, unclog sinks and toilets. Replace traps, vacuum breakers, and aerators. Finishes – Perform patching and painting, as needed, throughout the campus to maintain the clean look of the facility. Miscellaneous - Repair and move furniture. Hang and install miscellaneous items. Read and interpret drawings and manuals to troubleshoot problems. Assist other trades and complete other work as assigned.
Campus Maintenance - All of the exterior areas of the campus that are accessible to our customers are to be continually monitored in order to maintain the high quality appearance of the facility. All entrances and public areas are to be kept clean and neat. Perform daily and weekly grounds clean up.
Customer Service - Responds to requests for service promptly. Interacts courteously with staff, patients and visitors and plans work to minimize disruption. Observes proper etiquette regarding patient privacy.
Clerical - Documents all work performed by completely and accurately completing maintenance logs, work orders and in- service records and submits them to the appropriate parties for review and recording.
Safety - Exhibits the use of safe practices regarding electrical safety, lock- out/ tag out procedures, confined space entry, welding/ cutting, universal precautions, and personal protective equipment. Observes all safety precautions in the use of hand and power tools. Keep the roadways, parking areas and sidewalks of the facility free of ice and snow, potholes and tripping hazards, by using any and all of the equipment and resources available (trucks, tractors, snow blowers, salt spreaders, etc…) to maintain safe conditions for all of our customers (associates, patients and visitors). Observe all appropriate safety guidelines in the performance of duties to protect all patients, visitors, associates and property.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
High School Diploma
Ability to read and write
Able to understand and follow directions both verbal and written
Able to drive/operate vehicles
Able to operate and perform general user maintenance on weed eaters, snow blowers, sprayers, etc.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that will meet SEHC insurance requirements
Specialized Knowledge
Must have the ability to understand basic mechanical and electrical systems, read instructions, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on those systems.
Kind And Length Of Experience
1 year experience in at least one of the following:
Working for a Lawn or Landscape Company Building Maintenance Construction Military experience
FLSA Status
