Job Description and Responsibilities:
- Explore and implement initiatives to engage the unchurched in the local community.
- Collaborate with other parish staff and lay-run groups to integrate evangelization into their activities and outreach efforts.
- Develop and implement strategies to reach out to inactive Catholics and invite them back into practicing their faith.
- Serve as liaison for the staff and/or parish to support and coordinate with other active evangelization groups.
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of OCIA process for all ages (7-14 yrs, high school, 18 ), from inquiry stage through mystagogy stage, including recruiting, training, and supporting the team of dedicated catechists, sponsors, and other volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing, with a deep commitment to the mission of New Evangelization within the Church.
- Able to lead a team.
- Strong teamwork skills to coordinate with others on staff and beyond staff.
- Able to assess effectiveness of initiatives and modify programs for best use of time and resources.
