Responsibilities
- Develop and implement fun, hands-on Spanish language curricula tailored to PreK through 5th grade students, incorporating cultural elements and interactive activities that make language learning fun and meaningful, while ensuring alignment with all applicable educational standards.
- Use formative and summative assessments to regularly measure student performance, leveraging data to drive instruction and promote individual growth.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively by employing positive behavior management strategies, creating a respectful learning environment conducive to student engagement.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for improvement to foster strong home-school partnerships.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align Spanish lessons with ongoing classroom themes and units when possible.
- Participate in occasional school events to showcase Spanish culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, ideally with a concentration in Spanish.
- Experience teaching Spanish in an elementary school settings, with familiarity in classroom management and curriculum implementation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage students effectively and collaborate with colleagues and families.
- Creative, patient, and organized with the ability to make learning fun and accessible.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training prior to start.
