Clinical Teaching Assistant (CTA) – Registered Nurse

St. Edward's University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), invites applications for an adjunct clinical teaching assistant for fall 2025. The successful candidate will support clinical instruction in our undergraduate professional nursing programs. This role is intended to provide supervision and guidance during clinical rotations in support of the teaching/learning provided in the classroom by nursing program faculty. The collaboration between the CTA and faculty enables a faculty-to-student ratio of 1:15 in accordance with Texas Board of Nursing guidelines. .

For consideration we seek the following minimum qualifications:

· Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of Texas

  • Demonstrated clinical competence in assigned practice area (e.g., med-surg, maternal-child, psych, etc.)
  • At least 1 year of recent clinical experience in the relevant setting
  • Strong communication, mentorship, and critical thinking skills
  • Availability during assigned clinical days/shifts (weekdays, evenings, or weekends depending on need)
  • Essential Responsibilities Include: Candidates should have the interest and ability or potential to teach various undergraduate courses and support a diverse student body.
  • Supervise and guide nursing students in clinical practice settings (e.g., hospitals, clinics, long-term care).
  • Reinforce clinical skills, patient care practices, and professionalism in real- time environments.
  • Ensure safe practice and support students' development of clinical
  • Report student progress and concerns to the supervising
  • Collaborate with faculty to facilitate optimal student learning and patient
  • Maintain compliance with institutional and clinical site
  • Other duties as assigned
