St. Edward's University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), invites applications for a part-time position as adjunct in the Department of Accounting, Economics, and Finance, beginning January 2026.

The successful candidate will teach courses in tax, intermediate or advanced accounting. The Department of Accounting, Economics, and Finance routinely hires adjunct faculty to fill curricular needs on a part-time basis and maintains a pool of candidates for temporary part-time positions as the need arises. This position is continuously open and qualified persons will be selected to teach undergraduate courses as the need arises. Appointments are generally made on a semester-by-semester basis. Specific assignments vary according to department needs each semester. Positions are renewable, contingent upon need and performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licensed Texas CPA or an earned Ph.D./Master's degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in accounting. • Prior teaching experience in taxation and intermediate/advanced accounting. • Availability to teach in person. • Demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal background check is required.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
- Candidates should have an interest in and the ability or potential to teach undergraduate courses in accounting (tax and/or intermediate or advanced accounting) as well as support a diverse student body.
- Teach accounting courses in the areas listed above, aligned with departmental learning objectives. Instruction is primarily delivered in person (face-to-face).
- Assess student learning and provide clear, timely, and constructive feedback.
- Offer culturally responsive instruction and mentoring to a diverse student population.
- Utilize the university's learning management system (Canvas); training and support are available.
- Maintain professional standards and comply with all department, school, and university policies and procedures. Adjunct faculty are required to hold one on-campus office hour per week for each course taught.
- Other duties as assigned.
