Job Summary And Qualifications
This position performs a variety of duties in and around the buildings of the hospital and off-site locations. An Engineering Tech Specialist completes tasks as assigned with a focus on specialized systems, tasks, and projects. Instructs, leads, and facilitates vendors and trades to accomplish the assigned tasks.
Required:
High school education or GED.
Three years minimum experience in plant operations & hospital maintenance.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:

Preferred: Hospital Regulatory Certifications and/or education

Our services include a nationally accredited oncology program with the area's only adult Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program; advanced trauma care with a Level II trauma center; comprehensive cardiac, stroke and orthopedic programs; full-service maternity and newborn care; and two full-service emergency centers in the communities of Bee Cave and Bastrop. St. David's South Austin Medical Center is affiliated with the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery. We offer advanced robotic services for orthopedics, open heart and lung surgery, complex GI surgery, surgical oncology, general surgery, colorectal surgery, and urology. It was one of the first hospitals in Central Texas to combine the use of CT imaging and robotics to detect early stage lung cancer.

Job Summary And Qualifications

An Engineering Tech Specialist completes tasks as assigned with a focus on specialized systems, tasks, and projects. Instructs, leads, and facilitates vendors and trades to accomplish the assigned tasks.
- Plans, coordinates, and leads assigned projects to accomplish set goals.
- Develops processes and problem solving within HCA systems.
- Leads assigned projects in accordance with all hospital safety rules and regulations.
- Works with Infection Prevention staff to complete work in patient and critical areas safely.
- Maintains 100% adherence to Fire Prevention Procedures.
- Always disposes of hazardous materials according to proper policy guidelines.
- Utilizes safety guidelines, Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and reports potential/actual hazards, accidents, and unsafe equipment and/or practice.
- Scheduled communication with leaders on project, work performed, any/and all activity performed in the Leader’s department.
- Planning meetings with Leaders for shutdowns or other work being performed in the Leader’s area.
- Sending broadcasts and communication to all staff informing them of any interruptions in utilities, or work being performed in the hospital.
- Willingly accepts job tasks outside usual job tasks.
- Works directly with contractors involving equipment repairs or installation as may be requested.
