APPRENTICE GAS TECHNICIAN
Pay level $28.64 to $48.59 per hour, depending on qualifications.
Location: River Falls, Prescott and Hammond Wisconsin
St. Croix Gas provides natural gas utility service. We offer a small company environment where each employee has important responsibilities.
Wages: Paid hourly with overtime after 40 hours. Standard full time employee benefit package. Starting wage is dependent on qualifications.
Responsibilities:
· Install and maintain underground gas pipelines, meters, regulators.
· Operate power excavating equipment.
· Perform electronic instrument surveys.
· Resolve customer trouble calls and collections.
· Maintain detailed records.
· Night and weekend call duty.
· Emergency response.
Key Qualifications:
·Mechanical aptitude.
·Physical ability for manual labor.
·Willingness to work in extreme weather.
·Valid driver’s license.
·Passing drug and alcohol screens and medical physical.
·Passing background check.
·Ability to use Self Contained Breathing Apparatus in gas emergencies.
·Ability to complete computer training modules on gas utility skills.
Within six months of starting work you must have:
·Residence in our customer territory or within a 25 road mile/30 minutes driving time radius of our River Falls office, within Wisconsin.
·A Commercial Driver’s License for interstate use.
·Successful completion of all regulatory Operator Qualification credentials for your Apprentice level at St. Croix Gas.
Preferred Credentials:
· Degree in gas construction
· Experience in utility work
· Direct customer contact experience
