What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orientation Leader position at St. Cloud State University?
Welcome new students to SCSU at our orientation programming with opportunities throughout the Summer and Fall semesters which include Huskies First Four!
Students will develop their communication skills, including small group communication & public speaking, as well as their leadership skills in this position. Learn more about campus and yourself by joining our team!
Pack Leader Responsibilities
- Create an inclusive atmosphere to welcome new students to SCSU
- Serve as a role model and positive representative of SCSU
- Facilitate opportunities for new students to get to know each other
- Encourage new students to engage in campus life, attend events, and get involved
- Work collaboratively with other Packs Leaders and orientation staff
- Attend and engage in all scheduled training and orientation events
- Understand that orientation involves a level of unpredictability. Flexibility, adaptability, and creativity are necessary when working in orientation
- Provide logistical support at various orientation programming and events (i.e., tear down, working check-in, answering questions, greeting students, giving tours, leading icebreakers, contributing to social media accounts, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- GPA of 2.0 and above
- Good academic and conduct standing
- Enrolled in 6 credits at SCSU for Fall 2025 by August 1, 2025
- A passion for orientation and supporting students in transition
- Strong communication and rapport-building skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
