The St. Cloud Area Family YMCA is seeking responsible, attentive, and energetic Lifeguards to join our team! Not currently certified, no worries; the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA will provide certification training for qualified candidates.
As a Lifeguard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our members and guests while they enjoy our aquatic facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring the pool area, preventing accidents, and responding promptly to any emergencies.

- Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations, including administering first aid or CPR when necessary.
- Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area, looking out for potential hazards or issues.
- Ensure the pool area is clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Assist in organizing and running water safety programs or activities.
- Provide exceptional customer service by being approachable and helping members with any pool-related questions.
- Attend training sessions and maintain certifications as required.

Requirements
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
- All candidates must be able to pass the American Red Cross swim test during the interview process, which includes:
- Swim on front for 150 yards, tread water for 2 minutes with hands out of water, then swim on front for 50 yards (must be done consecutively without stopping)
- In a timespan of 1 minute 40 seconds, swimmer must jump into shallow end of pool, swim on front to deep end, retrieve 10 lb. object from bottom of pool, swim on back with object on stomach to the shallow end, place object on pool deck, and get out of pool.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard certification and plus.
