Duties
- Conduct thorough health assessments and screenings for students upon arrival and as needed throughout the day
- Administer medications, injections, and IV insertions following strict protocols and HIPAA regulations
- Respond swiftly to medical emergencies using Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques and coordinate with emergency services when necessary
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensure compliance with medical records policies
- Monitor vital signs, assess physiological status, and provide first aid for injuries or illnesses
- Collaborate with school staff to develop individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions or special needs
- Educate students and staff on health topics such as hygiene, infectious disease prevention, and medication administration
- Ensure all medical supplies are stocked, properly stored, and compliant with safety standards
Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in patient care across diverse settings including outpatient clinics, urgent care centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics, and Medical-Surgical units
- Hands-on experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR systems for accurate documentation
- Strong background in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology assessment, and medication administration
- Prior school experience or working with pediatric populations is highly desirable
- Skilled in venipuncture and injection administration with a focus on patient safety and comfort
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times
- Ability to perform patient assessment efficiently in inpatient or outpatient settings while managing multiple priorities
