HEALTH CAREERS PROGRAM INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNICIAN


POSITION SUMMARY

The Instructional Technician functions as a member of the instructional team under the direction of the Instructor. The Instructional Technician provides support services for students to assist them in overcoming barriers to learning.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4,000 hours of recent relevant work experience is required.
  • Experience or certification in EKG is preferred.
  • Must be physically able to perform the duties and tasks of a health care provider, including being able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, pull, push, twist and be able to stand for long periods of time.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and coordinate support services with the Instructor.
  • Assist in the development of individual student achievement plans.
  • Assist students by reviewing, re-teaching and reinforcing technical and academic content.
  • Assist students in the development of their personal management skills.
  • Assist students in the transition to work-based learning.
  • Support instruction at work-based learning sites.
  • Provide feedback to the Instructor regarding student progress, behavior and special needs.
  • Assist in providing and documenting student accommodations


RELATED JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 1. Substitute teacher when the Instructor is absent.
  • Assist with recruiting and promotional activities.
  • Assist with student management activities.
  • Assist with classroom/lab organization and maintenance activities.
  • Participate in professional development activities that enhance support services for students.
  • Follow policies and procedures set forth in the Staff Handbook, Student Handbook and Board of Education Policy Manual.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Position Employment Date: upon board approval, pending background check and drug

screening

Length of Contract: 185-Day School Year

Salary: per the Instructional Technicians' unaffiliated collective bargaining agreement
