What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Assistant Psychiatry position at St. Clair Hospital?
Summary
This position is accountable for providing clinical care in an area of specialized practice to patients as delegated by the physicians in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will participate in all aspects of patient care as defined in the Collaborative Agreement with the Supervising Physician(s) and work with interdisciplinary teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program
- Current license to practice as a professional nurse and a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania OR current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and current certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Prescriptive authority privileges.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous psychiatric work experience as a CRNP/PA.
- Previous inpatient psychiatric work experience.
