Lead Pharmacist

Summary

While performing duties related to St. Clair Hospital, this position is responsible for supervising the activities of pharmacy personnel engaged in preparing and dispensing medications and intravenous solutions.  Maintains working knowledge of departmental systems and procedures.  Develops, implements, and evaluates systems to promote efficient use of resources.  Ensures provision of patient-oriented drug therapy in a safe, timely, accurate, and effective manner.  Works with Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Manager and leadership team to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards of practice.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Current Pennsylvania license as a Pharmacist or eligibility required if licensed in another state, Pennsylvania license required within 6 months of hire.
2. One year of hospital pharmacy or home infusion experience.
3. Excellent communication, project management and analytical skills.
4. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, personal computer skills and knowledge of hospital information systems.

Preferred Qualifications 

1. Completion of an advanced degree in pharmacy or business administration.
2. Previous leadership experience.
3. Previous continuous quality improvement.
