Role Description The Assistant Baseball Coach is a part-time, on-site position located in Port Huron, MI. This role supports the Head Baseball Coach in all aspects of the baseball program, including planning and conducting practices, assisting with game strategy, and providing skill development and mentorship to student-athletes. The Assistant Coach helps promote a culture of sportsmanship and compliance with college and league regulations and contributes to recruitment and retention of student-athletes. Daily responsibilities include coordinating training sessions, communicating with players and staff, and supporting program operations such as scheduling, travel, and equipment management.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in Coaching Baseball and strong knowledge of Baseball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
- Experience in Coaching and Training, including planning practices, developing skill drills, and supporting player development.
- Effective Communication skills for working with student-athletes, coaching staff, college personnel, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to model professionalism, integrity, and inclusive behaviors that support diverse student-athletes.
- Experience working with catchers and/or outfielders.
- Prior coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, or higher level is preferred.
- Knowledge of NJCAA or similar athletic association rules and compliance standards is beneficial.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and travel for games and recruiting as required.
