Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in design principles, technical skills, and project management with custom homes. This role involves collaborating with clients, project managers, and vendors to develop innovative interior solutions that meet aesthetic, functional, and budgetary requirements. The Interior Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing designs, creating detailed drawings, and overseeing project execution from start to finish. The homes we build are in the $2.5 million to $8 million dollar range, so we are looking for someone who is experienced, committed, and presents themselves well. It is a major plus to have experience with websites and social media platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive interior design concepts that align with client needs and preferences.
- Create detailed plans and visualizations using software such as SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD.
- Prepare accurate drafting, rendering, and presentation materials to communicate design ideas effectively.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and requirements for renovation or remodeling projects.
- Source materials, furnishings, lighting fixtures, and accessories that complement the overall design concept.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and construction teams during renovation or remodeling phases to ensure design integrity.
- Prepare contracts and proposals for clients while maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits to oversee installation processes and ensure quality standards are met.
- Stay current with industry trends in lighting design, color theory, CAD drafting, and construction techniques.
Experience
- Proven experience in interior design or related field with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects.
- Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhinoceros 3D, 3ds Max (or similar), Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator), and Bluebeam.
- Knowledge of drafting standards, color theory principles, lighting sales strategies, budgeting processes, and contract management.
- Familiarity with lighting design for residential or commercial spaces as well as renovation and remodeling projects.
- Experience managing projects from concept through completion while coordinating with clients and contractors effectively.
