Beforecare/Aftercare Teacher 2026-2027 School Year

Job Summary:

The Beforecare & Aftercare Staff member provides safe, attentive, and nurturing supervision for students outside of regular instructional hours. This role supports a structured yet relaxed environment where children can engage in quiet activities, play, and social interaction in a non-instructional setting.

Work Schedule:

• Morning Shift: 6:15 AM – 8:30 AM
• Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM
• Split shift schedule during the school year

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in care
• Maintain a calm, welcoming, and orderly environment before and after school
• Facilitate age-appropriate, non-instructional activities (games, reading, outdoor play, etc.)
• Support smooth transitions between beforecare/aftercare and the regular school day
• Monitor attendance and ensure proper check-in/check-out procedures
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with parents and staff
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces
• Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and licensing requirements
• Respond appropriately to minor behavioral issues using positive guidance strategies

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in education or child development preferred
• Experience working with children in a group setting (school, daycare, camp, etc.)
• Strong supervision and organizational skills
• Positive, patient, and dependable demeanor
• Ability to manage groups of children in a non-classroom setting
• CPR/First Aid certification (Training provided during In-Service)
• Safe Church Training (Training provided during In-Service)
• Working Conditions:
• Indoor and outdoor supervision required
• Active role involving standing, walking, and engaging with children
• Split shift schedule

Pay: $14.50 - $14.85 per hour
