HVAC Technician

St. Charles Parish Public Schools is seeking a qualified and experienced H.V.A.C Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:

Provide HVAC services with specific responsibility for operating, maintaining, installing and upgrading all climate control equipment (commercial heating, refrigeration and cooling systems) in the district including but not limited to:

• Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in heating/air conditioning in order to identify equipment and/or systems in need of repair and replacement

• Inspect completed work (heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc…) for the purpose of ensuring quality of work standards are met

• Maintain a variety of files and records (time sheets, inventory, work orders, labor/material estimates, equipment repair manuals, etc…) in order to provide an up to date reference and audit trail

• Train assigned personnel on procedures used for HVAC equipment repair for the purpose of developing their professional and safety awareness skills

Requirements:

• High School diploma, equivalent, or the ability to obtain diploma or equivalent within 12 months of employment

• Successful completion of specialized technical courses from a vocational school or community college to include Basic Air Conditioning, Basic Electricity, and Basic Electronics -OR- acceptable job related experience within this specialized field

• Three (3) years' experience in A/C Mechanical and Electrical Control Work

• Possess a valid Driver's License

• Hold a Universal CFC Certification PREFERRED

• Background in commercial heating, refrigeration and cooling systems PREFERRED

• Experience with air and and liquid chillers PREFERRED

• Possess effective organizational and supervisory skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders

Pay: $29.14 - $34.67 per hour
