What are the responsibilities and job description for the Afternoon Assistant Teacher position at St. Charles Early Childhood Education Center?
Seeking an Assistant Teacher who engages well with preschool age children in afternoon activities in the classroom, gym play, and outdoor play.
Responsibilities:
-Help to establish a faith-filled, positive, structured and creative preschool classroom.
-Follow state licensing guidelines including maintaining an accurate student count and keeping all children within sight and sound.
-Arrive to school at 12:00 pm, Mon-Fri.
-Coach the children in their play/interactions throughout the day rather than “supervising” and then intervening.
- Assist the Lead Teacher
-Maintain awareness of allergies within the classroom.
-Clean tables before and after the children eat.
-Attend preschool/school staff meetings as required.
-Additional responsibilities as determined by the director.
- Limited Part-Time: 19.5 hrs. a week (Monday-Friday 12:00-3:30, and able to stay until 5:30 1 day a week).
