Program: R&E May School/Day Treatment
Type: Full-time /Exempt - 37.5 hours weekly
Pay Range: $60,405.80 – $66,400 (annually)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am – 3:30pm; and Wednesdays 8:00am-4:00pm

Position Overview
The Education Clinician (“Social Worker”) serves as the student’s primary clinician and provides direct treatment services to the student to resolve social and emotional issues, which impedes personal and educational competence. Attendees of this program are students who have emotional disabilities, and are between the ages of 5-13 years old.
Position Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) for New York State required.
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) for New York State required.
- NYS School Social Work Certification strongly preferred, or obtained within 6 months of employment.
- Experience within a special education school setting is highly preferred.
- Excellent organization, planning and time management skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with regulatory bodies; capacity to exhibit empathy for those in need.
- Proficiency in computer applications: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Business Workspace Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Meet, Sheets, etc.), and use secure Internet practices.
- Experience with AWARDS / Connections, is a plus!
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times, stressful environment.
- Capacity and openness to work with populations from culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, including but not limited to a broad range of people with various developmental and functional levels.
- Capable of exercising ethical, independent judgment and discretion, and handle sensitive data with strict confidentiality.
- Self-motivated and engaged, with a strong attention to detail; Excellent writing aptitude.
- Have a professional record of integrity, proven reliability and dependability.
- Qualities of positivity, flexibility and adaptability to day-to-day changes with client needs and functioning.
Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Shares responsibility for the planning and implementation of the psychosocial components of the therapeutic classroom.
- Provides social work services to families to facilitate the student’s progress towards individual goals.
- Provides individual counseling to students as directed by their I.E.P.
- Provides group therapy and/or group skills development counseling to children.
- Completes comprehensive assessment to determine treatment needs.
- Completes progress notes within a timely manner in the agency electronic health record and Frontline Education.
- Facilitates rad flag meetings as needed to ensure students’ needs are being met across all school environments.
- Facilitates treatment planning meetings; completes all necessary documentation. associated with treatment plan review, including progress summary, goal/objective development, ICMP updates, etc.
- Additional position-related duties as assigned by the Director/Supervisor.
Organizational Relationships:
- The Education Clinician reports to and is supervised by the Clinical Supervisor, Education.
- Collaborates with the faculty of the Day Treatment Clinic and Special Education programs.
