Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role for a Central Sterile Supply Technician, based in Smithtown, NY. Key responsibilities include decontaminating, inspecting, packaging, and sterilizing medical equipment and surgical instruments to maintain infection control and ensure patient safety. The technician will also manage inventory levels, handle medical instruments in compliance with safety standards, and collaborate with the operating room team to meet surgical needs efficiently.
Qualifications
- Experience and knowledge in Decontamination and Sterilization processes
- Understanding of Infection Control protocols and practices
- Familiarity with medical equipment used in the Operating Room
- Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or similar certification preferred
- Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is a plus
