Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our skilled nursing team. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing services and medical records operations, ensuring high-quality clinical care, regulatory compliance, and a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage nursing operations, including planning, organizing, and evaluating resident care.
  • Supervise RN Nurse Managers, RN Supervisors, Health Unit Coordinators, and Medical Records staff.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based nursing standards and policies.
  • Collaborate with the Administrator and leadership team to set and achieve SMART goals.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of nursing staff.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and allocate resources effectively.
  • Serve as a key leader during state surveys and audits.
  • Maintain strong communication with residents, families, interdisciplinary teams, and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Wisconsin.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical management experience, or 2 years as a DON in a skilled nursing setting.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Proven success in achieving positive clinical outcomes and survey results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and clinical database systems.
  • Nursing Home Administrator license is a plus.

Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
