Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our skilled nursing team. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of nursing services and medical records operations, ensuring high-quality clinical care, regulatory compliance, and a culture of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage nursing operations, including planning, organizing, and evaluating resident care.
- Supervise RN Nurse Managers, RN Supervisors, Health Unit Coordinators, and Medical Records staff.
- Develop and implement evidence-based nursing standards and policies.
- Collaborate with the Administrator and leadership team to set and achieve SMART goals.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of nursing staff.
- Monitor departmental budgets and allocate resources effectively.
- Serve as a key leader during state surveys and audits.
- Maintain strong communication with residents, families, interdisciplinary teams, and external partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Wisconsin.
- CPR certification required.
- Minimum 5 years of clinical management experience, or 2 years as a DON in a skilled nursing setting.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Proven success in achieving positive clinical outcomes and survey results.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and clinical database systems.
- Nursing Home Administrator license is a plus.
Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
