Responsibilities:

This position provides direct resident care and provides for the resident's comfort, while respecting the resident's rights as an individual. In addition, this position functions as a valuable nursing team member and always demonstrates professional conduct.

• Assist with the maintenance of resident's nutritional needs.
• Maintain or assist with restoration of normal bowel and bladder function.
• Observe and report significant changes in a resident's condition.
• Understand the psychological needs of the resident.
• Practice infections control principles.
• Demonstrate interest in professional growth.
• Practice principles of rehabilitation.
• Responsible for employee injury prevention, follows safety rules, and addresses safety issues with supervisor.

Qualifications:

• A High school diploma or GED
• CNA certification listed as current in the NYS Registry
• CNA certification status must be without findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment, neglect, or misappropriation of resident property certification (Verification of this Registry will be filed in the Human Resource Department)
