St. Bonaventure University invites experienced educators, administrators, and scholar-practitioners to serve as Dissertation Readers for our Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership program.
Founded in 1858, St. Bonaventure University is the nation's first Franciscan university, committed to educating students through the values of compassion, wisdom, and integrity. Our fully online Ed.D. program prepares leaders across P–12 education, higher education, nonprofit organizations, and corporate learning environments through applied research and problem-based inquiry. The program is a member of the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) Network, reflecting our commitment to innovative, practitioner-focused doctoral education and continuous improvement through national collaboration.
Dissertation Readers provide constructive feedback on doctoral candidates' dissertation work, support scholarly rigor, and collaborate with dissertation committee chairs to help students successfully complete their doctoral journey.
Compensation
- $250 stipend per semester for three semesters as a Dissertation Reader
- Readers who demonstrate excellence in the role may be invited to serve as Dissertation Committee Chairs
- Committee Chair appointments receive a stipend of $1,000 per semester for three semesters
Preferred Qualifications
- Earned doctorate (Ed.D. preferred or Ph.D.)
- Experience with educational research and dissertation supervision, review, or mentoring
- Leadership experience in education, higher education, nonprofit, or related fields
- Commitment to supporting practitioner-scholars and applied research
