JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
Must be certified as a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC or CLC). CLC must be working on IBCLC certification and achieve within 2 years of employment.
Experience
Minimum of one year experience on a Maternity/Infant unit or nursery, or outpatient lactation.
Physical
Normal hospital environment. Continuous exposure to biological hazards. Frequent exposure to fumes, odors, water. Close eye work. Hearing of normal and soft tones, Distinguish smells. Distinguish temperatures by touch and proximity. Lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. Frequent pushing/pulling, sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.

JOB SUMMARY
The Lactation Consultant integrates her expertise as educator, clinician, consultant, and researcher with the intent of promoting breast feeding. Provides ongoing in-services for staff as well as pre- and post natal classes for clients. Provides follow-up care by phone or outpatient basis. Must be able to communicate effectively and project a positive attitude toward clients, staff, visitors, and students. Must always conduct herself in a professional manner.
Full Time Evening Shift .
