Role Description The Staff Pharmacist is a full-time, on-site role based at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. This role is responsible for accurately dispensing medications, and reviewing patient medication profiles for safety, interactions, and appropriate dosing. Compounds and dispenses medications according to orders of practitioners authorized by law to prescribe. Supervises and checks work of supportive personnel. Must be knowledgeable of standard pharmaceutical techniques and procedures, laws governing the practice of pharmacy, drug incompatibilities and interactions, pharmacology and toxicology.
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Arkansas, or eligibility for licensure within a defined timeframe.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
- Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, including sterile compounding, medication distribution systems, and formulary management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to educate patients, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and document care clearly.
- Commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and adherence to policies related to controlled substances, medication storage, and documentation.
- Proficiency with electronic health records, pharmacy information systems, and basic office software.
- Ability to work variable shifts as needed, maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, and support a culture of respect and inclusion.

Operates computer, typewriter, calculator. Finger dexterity. Eye-hand coordination. Frequent sitting, standing and walking. May lift and carry up to 35 lbs. Some exposure to chemical hazards when making chemotherapy.
