Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manager of Medical Staff Services to oversee the administrative functions related to medical staff credentialing, privileging, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of managed care, medical terminology, and healthcare standards, ensuring that our medical staff operates efficiently within regulatory frameworks. This leadership role requires excellent organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance in medical staff operations.
Required Education:
High school diploma or GED and knowledge of medical terminology or the combination of education, knowledge, skills, mental development, and relevant experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of administrative/secretarial experience.
- Be able to type 60 wpm, take shorthand of 90-100 wpm, and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Responsibilities
- Answer telephone inquires and take messages/makes appointments.
- Process in-coming and out-going mail.
- Route correspondence and reports.
- Maintain filing system in a manner that is easy to access, including paper and electronic filing systems.
- Keep Hospital staff abreast of changes in medical staff information.
- Secure patient charts when needed by physicians.
- Maintain monthly calendar of medical staff meetings which include department, committee, and ad-hoc meetings
- Type and design general correspondence and memos as needed.
- Prepare agenda for medical staff meetings; send meeting notices and make reminder calls; and collect and assemble reports pertaining to the business to be discussed.
- Attend and record medical staff meetings.
- Transcribe minutes of meetings.
- Perform follow-up of meetings as needed, which may include correspondence and memos.
- Perform research and/or literature searches.
- Respond to verification requests for current and former members of the medical staff.
- Ensure evidence of current licensure and insurance coverage is on file for medical staff members.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour
