Part-Time Information Technology Assistant

Position: 12-Month Part-time, 20 hours per week, Hourly
Reports to: Information Technology Director
Responsibilities: Information Technology Assistant
- Respond to first-level help desk support tickets by performing core troubleshooting and system analysis on hardware/software systems to determine hardware and software functionality specifications or errors.
- Document end-user problems, resolutions, and new solutions for future reference using appropriate tools and resources.
- Assist in identifying trends in continuing hardware, software, or system problems.
- Refer user problems to the Information Technology Director as necessary when additional assistance is required for resolution.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Maintain inventories of equipment and auditing assets as needed.
- Create and maintain documentation related to technology hardware and software operation and support.
- Operate technology platforms and systems as needed to support the Information Technology department.
- Knowledge and experience with iOS, Mac OS, Windows, and ChromeOS.
- Team-focused: collaborative and professional manner when dealing with staff, volunteers, parents, students, and others.
- Hands-on: comfortable working with tools, climbing ladders, carrying up to 50 lbs, and working with the facilities team and other personnel when maintaining and installing technology equipment.
- A high level of energy and a sense of humor, bringing a desire to problem solve, create, and collaborate with a wide range of groups, including administrative and teaching teams.
- Other: any and all other duties as assigned by the Information Technology Director
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience with technology in classroom and office environments.
- Ability to deliver friendly and courteous customer service to users with various levels of computer knowledge, particularly for students in grades Pre-K through 8 as their first point of contact
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to use judgment in dealing with sensitive or confidential information/material
- Proficient and experienced in word processing and other computer software programs, such as QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, G Suite, and other student management databases
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (including speaking, listening, and taking directions)
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and personnel
