Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional nutritional care within a healthcare or assisted living setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, strong attention to food safety and sanitation, and experience working in dietary departments such as nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry. This role involves preparing and serving nutritious meals, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring residents' dietary needs are met with compassion and professionalism.
Duties
- Assist with meal preparation, cooking, and food presentation in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Serve meals to residents or patients with attention to customer service and dietary restrictions
- Handle food safely by following sanitation and hygiene protocols, including cleaning and bussing tables or trays
- Assist with food handling, portioning, and packaging for delivery or service
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment through proper sanitation practices
- Support the dietary department in inventory management and food storage procedures
- Ensure timely delivery of meals to meet scheduled dining times
- Collaborate with nursing staff or caregivers to accommodate special diets or nutritional plans
Requirements
- Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, serving, and sanitation standards
- Familiarity with dietary department operations and food safety regulations
- Strong time management skills to handle meal schedules efficiently
- Ability to perform food handling, cooking, cleaning, and bussing duties effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach toward residents or patients
- Previous dietary aide or culinary experience is advantageous
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
