We are seeking a faithful, joyful, and skilled part-time Math Teacher to teach mathematics in grades 1–4 using the Singapore Math curriculum. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early education, a strong foundation in math instruction, and a desire to integrate academic rigor with character and virtue formation in a classroom infused with wonder and joy.
Requirements:Curriculum & Instruction
- Provide math instruction for students in grades 1–4 using the Singapore Math curriculum, in alignment with classical pedagogy and Catholic values.
- Teach foundational math skills using concrete-pictorial-abstract methods.
- Foster critical thinking and problem-solving through guided discovery and deep conceptual understanding.
- Reinforce mastery through repetition, drill, and spiral review, as appropriate to each developmental stage.
- Adapt instruction to meet the needs of individual learners while maintaining high expectations for all.
Classroom Culture
- Establish a peaceful, structured, and joyful classroom environment rooted in the dignity of each child.
- Cultivate attentiveness, perseverance, and order through consistent routines and habits.
- Integrate Catholic virtues into classroom life and instruction.
Assessment & Communication
- Regularly assess student progress using both formative and summative tools.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate progress to parents in a timely and constructive manner.
- Collaborate with full-time teachers to support interdisciplinary learning and reinforce core virtues across subjects.
Collaboration & Formation
- Attend relevant faculty meetings, school Masses, and professional development sessions.
- Participate in ongoing formation in classical methodology and Catholic educational philosophy.
- Work closely with the principal and Grammar School team to ensure academic and spiritual continuity.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Math, Elementary Ed, or similar); Master’s preferred. Prior teaching experience, especially in a classical or Catholic school, is highly valued.
- Experience or training in the Singapore Math approach is strongly preferred.
